Impression textile recto-verso

Frequently Asked Questions

What is double-sided fabric printing used for? +
It is used for displays that people see from both sides. Typical uses are hanging banners, open booth dividers, and signs in event halls with walkways on two sides. You can print the same artwork on each side or a different message on each. It also helps when a space has no wall behind the display and visitors approach from any direction.
How does duplex fabric printing work? +
Duplex printing puts a design on both faces of the fabric, so each side shows a clear image. Our range uses printed polyester fabrics. The Duplex Blockout Polyester Backdrop (260 GSM) has a blockout layer, so the two images do not show through each other. Send your artwork for each side and our design team can help you set it up.
What fabrics are suitable for two-sided printing? +
This collection offers six duplex options: Duplex Knitted Polyester (115GSM), Duplex Shiny Satin Polyester, Duplex Blockout Polyester Backdrop (260 GSM), Duplex Knitted Polyester Fabric Printing, Duplex Satin Fabric Printing and Duplex Oxford Fabric Printing. Knitted fabric is light and soft. Satin has a smooth, shiny finish. Oxford is a woven fabric. Blockout is the heaviest choice.
How is duplex fabric printing different from single-sided printing? +
Duplex fabric carries a full image on both sides. Single-sided printing shows the image on the front only, and the back is plain or shows a faded mirror image. Duplex printing suits displays that people view from both directions. If your display stands against a wall, single-sided printing is usually enough. Use duplex when the back is also visible.
When should I choose blockout instead of knitted fabric? +
Choose blockout when the two printed sides must not show through each other. The Duplex Blockout Polyester Backdrop (260 GSM) is built for this, so each side stays clear when you print different artwork. Choose knitted polyester (115GSM) when you want a lighter fabric and the same image on both sides. Satin suits designs that need a smooth, shiny finish.
Is the fabric washable and durable? +
Our polyester fabrics are machine washable and made to be used many times. They are also PVC free. After an event, check the care instructions that come with your order, then wash the fabric before you store it. A clean, dry fabric keeps its colour and shape for your next show. Durability helps you reuse the same print across several events.
Can I reuse a double-sided print or reorder only the fabric? +
Yes, you can reuse a fabric print at more than one event, as long as the fabric is clean and stored correctly. If you need to update a message, you can order a new print with new artwork. Talk to our design team about which parts of your display you can keep and which parts you need to replace.
How do I store and transport a printed fabric? +
Fold the fabric neatly or roll it, and place it in a clean, dry bag or box. Do not store it damp. Polyester fabric is light, so it is easy to carry to events and takes little space compared with rigid panels. Keep it away from sharp edges and direct heat.
